About the Project

Flexhaul.ai is building a smarter way for people, creators, and e-commerce sellers to ship their products. The vision was to become a one-stop hub where anyone could instantly compare rates across major carriers like USPS, UPS, and FedEx, book shipments, and even manage claims — all in one place. My role was to craft a modern interface and brand identity that would make a complex freight process feel effortless and approachable.

Challenges We Faced

  1. Turning a complex, multi-step logistics process into a flow that even a first-time user could navigate.
  2. Designing for multiple personas with different priorities (cost, speed, personalization).
  3. Creating designs that would remain scalable for future features like AI recommendations and mobile apps.
  4. Working with undefined backend workflows, which meant keeping the UI flexible enough to adapt.
  5. Establishing a brand identity from scratch without any prior references or assets.

Problems & Their Solutions

  1. Shipping was fragmented, forcing users to switch between multiple carrier sites. Designed a unified comparison page showing real-time rates from all carriers in one place.
  2. Small business owners and creators found existing platforms too technical and cluttered. Simplified the booking flow into clear, step-by-step screens with minimal clicks.
  3. Flexhaul had no brand identity or logo, making it hard to build trust with new users. Created a professional, modern logo and a clean UI design system to establish credibility.
  4. The platform needed to serve three different personas (individuals, creators, sellers) with unique needs. Balanced the UI to highlight cost, speed, and personalization options without overwhelming any user group.
  5. Logistics workflows were complex, with undefined backend integrations. Built flexible UI components and placeholders to adapt as APIs and backend processes evolved.
  6. Accessibility and device responsiveness were often overlooked in competitors’ platforms. Designed fully responsive layouts and followed accessibility standards (WCAG) to ensure inclusivity.

Outcome & Results

  • A complete platform design covering search, rate comparison, checkout, order history, claims, and support flows.
  • A new brand identity with a logo that represents trust and innovation.
  • Designs that work across desktop and mobile for maximum accessibility.
  • A strong foundation for development, reducing ambiguity and making backend alignment smoother.
  • Most importantly, a solution that transforms a fragmented, frustrating shipping process into a seamless experience for users.

"Working with the design team was a game-changer for Flexhaul. They took an incredibly complex shipping process and made it feel simple, intuitive, and even enjoyable for our users. The prototypes gave us clarity early on, and the new brand identity instantly built trust with our audience. We now have a platform that not only meets the needs of individuals, creators, and e-commerce sellers but also positions us strongly against long-established competitors."
